An Ohio resident won the Powerball jackpot $252.6 million.

A single ticket in Ohio matched all six numbers in the Wednesday night Powerball® drawing to win a jackpot worth $252.6 million.

The jackpot has a cash value of $134.7 million. The winning numbers in the Wednesday, April 19, 2023 drawing were white balls 4, 11, 21, 38, and 64. The Powerball number was 11. The Power Play® multiplier was 3X.

The lucky ticket holder will have the choice between an estimated annuity of $252.6 million, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump sum payment of $134.7 million. Both prize options are before taxes.

Nationwide, nine tickets matched four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000 prizes in the April 19 drawing. Another four tickets matched four white balls and the red Powerball and tripled their winnings to $150,000 by including Power Play, the game’s prize multiplier feature, for an additional $1 per play.

The Powerball jackpot has been won three times this year. The Powerball jackpot was previously hit on March 4 in Virginia by a ticket that won a $162.6 million grand prize. There was also a $754.6 million grand prize won in Washington on February 6.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of all proceeds from the sale of a Powerball ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold.

Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
